Children's Home, Pattaya, Thailand

After nearly a month in Vietnam and a couple of weeks in Cambodia, we returned to Thailand on October 31st. Paul's West Point roommate and his family live in Thailand so we have been lucky to have a "home base" while traveling in South East Asia.  Kassie spent a day with Laurie at a home for disabled kids where Laurie volunteers. It's a home that takes in disabled children that are orphaned or have come to a point where their family can't take care of them anymore.  There are currently around 170 kids here.   It was such a rewarding experience to spend time with these kids.
This sweet little guy was born blind.  Fortunately he got accepted into a school for the blind so this was his last day at the children's home.  Laurie gathers the kids that are in the most need for attention/therapy and works with them.
Laurie uses her experience at a PT to help these kids.
This sweet little girl had the biggest smile and made me laugh.
I'll never forget this awesome kid.  He's 12 years old and until recently was living at home going to a normal school.  Because of his physical disabilities, his school and family were no longer able to accommodate him so he was brought to the home to live.  He had a beaming smile and looked so proud to be helping.  It was a heartwarming experience spending time with these kids!
